On Friday 15th July 2022, Tata Power said that it would train 3,000 young people this fiscal year in the field of Renewable Energy. According to a statement from Tata Power, the corporation plans to teach 5,000 young people overall to work in the industry by 2025.

To encourage smart and efficient energy-related expertise, training will be provided in solar photovoltaic for electric vehicle charging, installation and maintenance of rooftop solar photovoltaic, installation of smart meters, and home automation at its six training centers in Shahad, Trombay, Vidyavihar, Maithon, Mundra, and Jojoba.

The Tata Power Skills Development Initiative (TPSDI), which was established in February 2015, aims to equip Indian youth with employable skills, particularly in the power and related industries. The Tata Group Chairman launched the program as a part of the centennial celebrations for Tata Power, and it has since offered modular training and certification for a range of skill sets.
